Bureau of Standards Clears More Brands of Toilet Paper

Following the recent scare concerning certain brands of toilet paper, the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) says 56 brands of  toilet paper, two industrial jumbo rolls as well as 17 brands of  hand towels have now met microbiological specifications.

However, a notice from the agency on Sunday still made no mention of  the four brands of toilet paper reportedly found with high levels of  bacteria. The Bureau said tests are ongoing to assess the safety of all brands and its website is being updated as additional results become available.

Some local brands  that have been cleared are Charm, Classie, Comfi, Delicate, Dove, Finesse, Lovely, Lucky Star, Irie, and Right Choice.

Several brands from China, the US, Grenada, Trinidad as well as El Salvador have also been given the green light by the BSJ.
