Jamaica’s Nesta Carter won the Stockholm Diamond League 100 metres today clocking a season’s best 9.96s to win ahead of Ketson Bledman of Trinidad and Tobago (10.09s). Nickel Ashmeade also of Jamaica finished fourth clocking the same time (10.01s) as third place Ujah Chijindu of the UK. American Mike Rogers was disqualified for a false start.

Jamaican Female 400m runner Novlene Williams Mills won the women’s 400m at the Stockholm Diamond League today on a wet track clocking 50.09s ahead of USA’s Sanya Richards Ross (50.27s). Francena McCorory of the US (50.65s) finished third. Commonwealth Games winner Stephenie McPherson was third in 51.01s while compatriot Christine Day finished fourth with 52.03s.
