Former Customs Employee Receives Big $100m Payout

A former employee of Jamaica’s Customs Department has been awarded nearly J$100m, as compensation for injuries he received while on the job 10 years ago.

Radcliffe Taylor, had inhaled a hazardous substance while working, which caused him to suffer from Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia.

He was awarded J$10.984m, plus US$759,000 in General Damages, and J$250,000 in Special Damages, all at 3% interest.
