Jamaica’s Murder Rate in January Up By 31%

There was a 31% increase in the number of reported murders for the first month of the year.

Data contained in the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Periodic Serious and Violent Crimes Review for January shows that 97 murders were recorded.

This was up from 74 during the corresponding period in 2014, a trend reflecting an average of more than three murders per day.
