Olympian Juliet Cuthbert is expected this afternoon to announce her intention to run for the West Rural St. Andrew constituency on behalf of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
The seat is currently held by the People’s National Party’s (PNP) Paul Buchanan.
Cuthbert represented Jamaica in 1992 at the Barcelona Olympics where she won silver in both the 100 and 200 metres female finals.
She earned a bronze four years later in Atlanta as a member of the women’s 4×100 relay team.
The former athlete now operates a gym in Kingston.
