No Tsunami Watch For The Caribbean

There is Currently no Tsunami watch in place for the Caribbean.

The star marks the epicenter of today’s (09-05-12) 7.9-magnitude earthquake in Costa Rica.

In a media release the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) advised that the 7.9 earthquake that affected Costa Rica this morning, was determined to pose no threat to the Caribbean.

Please Refrain from sending any messages stating that a warning is in effect for the Caribbean as it may lead to unnecessary panic.

Tsunami warnings remain in effect for the Pacific coasts of Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala and Peru.
