Cable & Wireless Buys Columbus International

British telecoms firm Cable & Wireless Communications, parent company of LIME, today agreed to buy Barbados-based peer Columbus International, operators of Flow Jamaica, for us$1.85 billion. LIME has increased call rates for some international destinations. The telecoms firm last week announced rate increases ranging from 62%, to as high as 700%. LIME Tops OUR Customer Satisfaction Survey

A survey by the Office of Utilities Regulation, OUR, on service delivery by utility companies shows telecommunications company LIME with the highest level of customer satisfaction. The lowest satisfaction in the 2014 National Consumer Survey was reported for the Jamaica Public Service Company. Dissatisfaction with JPS’ billing was the main barrier to a higher score among its customers.

LIME Invests Billions in Their Mobile 4G Network

4G is investing US$79 million or J$8.7 billion to upgrade its mobile network to deliver more of its fast 4G broadband speeds to more places across Jamaica.
