Dear Pastor,: It is very difficult to have a woman and to try to make her happy while she is not showing you any appreciation at all. I built a house on her family land and my girlfriend and I moved in together. We have been together for two years and I love her. The house is built in the community in which she was born and raised.
She introduced me to her best friend when I just moved there. Now she thinks that her friend and I are involved. Pastor, my girlfriend is now pregnant. Why would I waste all that money building a house and then get involved with her friend? She does not trust me. I am confused.
Dear Confused,: I don’t know why your girlfriend is accusing you of having an intimate relationship with her best friend. Perhaps you have not been very careful in keeping the boundaries clear. Sometimes when a man becomes very friendly with the female friends of his wife or girlfriend, she becomes jealous and is likely to accuse him of cheating on her.
You say that your woman doesn’t trust you. I suppose that most women do not trust their men with their female friends because they know their friends are seeking good men and may try to take their men away from them.
Assure your girlfriend that you have done nothing wrong. Make sure that whatever you do your girlfriend knows about it. If she continues to accuse you of having an intimate relationship with her friend, it would be wise for all three of you to discuss the matter together to set her mind at ease. However, she should realise that she might be destroying the friendship that she has had with her girlfriend because the girlfriend might be very disappointed to hear that she does not trust her with her man.
