The Caribbean recently made a splash by securing two places on a list compiled by First To Know titled “10 most beautiful beaches that will make you want to retire early.”
Crane Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Caribbean island of Barbados.
While no judging methodology was outlined, each of the winning beaches met the website’s criteria “there’s only one way to describe these ten most beautiful beaches: paradise.”
“Whether you’re interested in finding a place to simply prop up your umbrella, feel the warmth of the sand between your toes, or embark on tropical adventure where you’re free to float around on the bluest waters with an ice-cold drink in your hand, these are the ultimate destinations by the shore,” said First To Know.
Scoring for the Caribbean in second and tenth place respectively were Crane Beach in Barbados and The Bahamas’ Taino Beach, both of which encapsulate the Caribbean dream of palm-fringed shorelines and crystal-clear sea.
The Crane is no stranger to accolades, having been named “one of the ten best beaches in the world” by Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, among others.
Located on the island’s scenic East Coast, about five minutes east of Grantley Adams International Airport, Crane Beach is renowned for its picturesque location on the windswept Atlantic and magnificent expanse of powdery pink sand.
Crane Beach is home to what is believed to be the Caribbean’s first resort hotel, which was first opened in 1887. Now fully restored and expanded, the property combines old-world charm and natural beauty with the ultimate in contemporary luxury.
The Bahamas’ Taino Beach, which capped the list in tenth place, is situated on Freeport’s south-eastern coast, outside the main hub of Grand Bahama Island and town of Freeport.
Its quiet location belies its proximity to Grand Bahama Airport just 15 minutes away, while the nearby Bell Channel Bay boasts a small marina that operates a ferry service to Port Lucaya.
Taino Beach is noted for safe swimming and good watersports in an uncrowded setting, with its signature resort the sole occupant of a generous expanse of soft white sand beach. A wide range of watersports equipment is available to guests.
