Vegan Recipe: Curried Broad Beans and Cabbage

Ever had a can of Broad beans and was clueless as to what to do? Well here’s an easy (7) minute recipe to try for yourself and family.

Beans are truly versatile and they are a source of protein for vegans and vegetarians. So no need to worry about not getting protein.


  • A can of broad beans.
  • Chopped onions, sweet peppers, and tomatoes.
  • Any cooking oil of your choice.
  • 1/4 of chopped Cabbage.
  • A dash of Curry Powder.
  • A dash of all purpose seasoning powder.
  • A dash of black pepper.

Method: Preheat frying pan for (2) minutes. Pour cooking oil into heated pan. Next add onions, tomato and sweet peppers. Allow seasonings to fry until they are slightly wilted for (1) minute. Then add broad beans to pan. (Ensure to wash off Broad Beans, because of high sodium content in canned foods. Wouldn’t want your meal to be too salty now.) Allow to cook for (2) minutes.

Sprinkle curry powder on the beans. Add your chopped cabbage. Cover your frying pan and leave to simmer for (3) minutes. Finally, sprinkle all purpose seasoning and black pepper. Allow seasonings to soak for (1) minute. Then serve with staples of choice.
