VW Super Bowl Commercial

Like the thousands of Jamaicans worldwide, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism and Entertainment, Dr. Wykeham McNeill has thrown his support behind the iconic Volkswagen Super Bowl 2013 advert, which is to be aired during the game this Sunday.

In a media release last night, the minister revealed that the ad which has the potential to boost the country’s tourist arrivals, had registered well over one million views on the video-sharing website YouTube Tuesday.

Minister McNeill said “I think this is a very creative commercial which truly taps into the tremendous mass appeal that brand Jamaica and its hospitable people have globally”.

Minister McNeill described the commercial as a tribute to the popularity of reggae music worldwide, while saluting reggae superstar Jimmy Cliff for being a true Jamaican ambassador through his outstanding music.” I urge persons all across the globe to do exactly what the commercial portrays, which is to tap into your inner Jamaican and ‘get happy.”
