Water Woes in St. Catherine and St. Mary

NATIONAL Water Commission (NWC) customers in sections of Greater Portmore and surrounding areas in St. Catherine may experience low water pressure or have no water due to mechanical problems affecting the Congreve Park Well.

The NWC is reporting that based on the extent of these problems, normal operations are not expected before Friday, therefore water will be supplied to the areas through the Goshen Pen system and where necessary trucked water will be provided.

Areas to be affected include:

  • Greater Portmore
  • Naggo Head
  • Old Braeton
  • Congreve Park
  • Silverstone
  • Portmore Pines
  • Monza
  • Daytona
  • Ascott and West Cumberland

Customers in the Boscobel Housing Scheme in St Mary are currently experiencing a disruption in their water supply due to electrical problems at the Boscobel Relift station.

The system is out of operation and the necessary repairs are in progress.
