The trial date was set when Powell appeared in the Home Circuit Court today.
The trial could not proceed because there is another murder case before it.
Meanwhile, Justice Carol Lawrence Beswick has ordered that arrest warrants be issued for four policemen who are witnesses in the case.
The policemen failed to turn up to court today and gave no reasons for their absence.
Justice Lawrence Beswick made enquiries about to the subpoenas served on witnesses in the case.
The court was informed that some were served, however, two civilian witnesses were not found.
The judge said she needed to ascertain the location of the witnesses as she could not allow the system to fail.
She then adjourned the case and extended Powell’s bail.
The businessman is charged with the July 2011 murder of former schoolboy Khajeel Mais.
Mais was shot dead when a taxi in which he was a passenger was allegedly fired on by Powell.
